Tymor yr Haf 2022

Summer Term

This term, we’re beginning an exciting chapter of Discovery! Starting with a trip ‘Around the World in 80 Days’ and then heading into the rainforest, we’re thinking about the key question, ‘Just because we can, does it mean we should?’

Tymor y Gwanwyn 2022 Spring Term

This term, our whole school focus is on ‘Changes’. We began this chapter with a whole school week exploring the wordless picture book ‘Window’ by Jeannie Baker and creating a range of artwork, maps, collage and coding based on the text. We also took part in an oracy task ‘hot seating’ the main character in the story and asking and answering questions.

We studied two of William Shakespeare’s most famous plays, Macbeth and A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and created a range of written and creative work inspired by them. Our artwork was also inspired by the work of artist John Piper. In science, we have been exploring the world of plants and animals and enjoyed a lovely walk in Silia Wood.

Changes - Tudor Fashion Ebrill 2022

This term, we have explored how fashion has changed since the time of the Tudors. We created our own motifs, digital patterns and peg doll outfits. Fantastic work everyone!

Changes Dance Chwefror 2022

After learning different street dance moves, 5/6J began developing their own dances. We're learning about how dance has changed and why certain styles are more popular now than others.

Changes Housing Chwefror 2022

We have been learning about how houses have changed since the time of the Tudors. After designing our own Tudor style buildings we constructed frames. We had great fun in our outdoor learning session using wattle and daub techniques to build our houses.
